Mind Bytes: Research Computing Expo and Symposium

The University of Chicago Research Computing Center (RCC) is pleased to announce its first annual research exhibit, Mind Bytes: Research Computing Expo and Symposium. This event will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 12:30 to 5:30 in Ida Noyes Hall on the University of Chicago’s Hyde Park campus. Program starts at 1:30pm.

Mind Bytes is a celebration of research and scholarship at RCC and an opportunity to collaborate and network with fellow researchers. The event will include faculty lightning talks, a short seminar about cognitive computing technology, and a panel of industry professional whose work involves big data. A poster session will enable the exchange of ideas across disciplines and reward researchers' work that effectively utilizes RCC’s resources.

Some other highlights of the event will include interactive sessions with IBM's cognitive computer Watson; demonstrations of RCC's new Interactive Work Bench; and a post-event reception with hors d'oeuvres and wine.
