Mind Bytes: Research Computing Expo and Symposium
The University of Chicago Research Computing Center (RCC) is pleased to announce its first annual research exhibit, Mind Bytes: Research Computing Expo and Symposium. This event will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 12:30 to 5:30 in Ida Noyes Hall on the University of Chicago’s Hyde Park campus. Program starts at 1:30pm.
Mind Bytes is a celebration of research and
scholarship at RCC and an opportunity to collaborate and network with
fellow researchers. The event will include faculty lightning talks, a
short seminar about cognitive computing technology, and a panel of
industry professional whose work involves big data. A poster session
will enable the exchange of ideas across disciplines and reward
researchers' work that effectively utilizes RCC’s resources.
Some other highlights of the event will include interactive sessions
with IBM's cognitive computer Watson; demonstrations of RCC's new
Interactive Work Bench; and a post-event reception with hors d'oeuvres
and wine.
